It was not that long ago when someone said to me, ‘Smile, it’s not that bad’.

That rocked me a little, I have to admit, because at the time, I was feeling happy and good on the inside and felt as if I was smiling on the inside. Well, that was obviously not reflected on how I was perceived on the outside. So, I resolved to smile more. Not as easy as I thought, after years of smiling inwardly but not outwardly.

In a BBC study a few years ago, they asked if people could spot a fake smile from a series of photographs. I’ll let you read the study to draw from their conclusions, and perhaps try the test yourself.

But after all that, you can just tell when someone is happy and content within, without the studies and without the words…

So, like me, perhaps we could all find some more inner happiness and smile more…
