Some say that having choice allows us to be free. Remember the days when you wanted a pair of jeans you had no more than 3 brands to choose from, and 2 or 3 styles per brand. Today there are more brands than I could ever name and so many styles and options that I confess to being overwhelmed by the choice available to me today. Metasaga

By chance I recently came across the RSA website and the series of lectures they have on video and audio. I was particularly taken by the animate videos, which provide a fascinating visual delight of the highlights of key talks. Like the TED lectures, I find them educational and inspiring and, most of all, provocative. Operating Systems

I have just updated the operating system on my computer. I confess that for me it was a decision forced upon me. I had tried to speed up the old system using ideas and techniques from books and magazines, and though I feel I am a competent computer user, I admit that all I managed to do was slow things down further. So, my next action was to reinstall the old operating system from scratch, after backing up my documents of course.
